Thumbhole Stock for Encore - Lefty
« on: March 12, 2007, 04:00:53 PM »
I have a left handed friend with a Custom Encore that's been trying to find a left handed Thumb hole Stock for two years / Boyd's has told him for 2 years that they would call him when they build - the other day he called and they said no chance. Needs in the Rose Lam - probably not right name.

I'd like to see him find the stock he wants - any ideas ( We find them on Encores in the stores - but they never know anything ).

Try Gunstocks, Inc. at http://www.gunstocksinc.com/ .  I shoot left handed as well and thought about going to the L.H. thumbhole stock but went to the regular Prohunter Flextech stock instead.  I'm really glad I did.

basdjs:   That's a possibility, would like to keep searching though - this rifle is a 7mm-08 Cal, custom trigger work - all stainless, 22 inch barrel ................ may have to change it's current floated-fitted for-end as well to get a match ( Dang ).

Would like a Custom Stock Maker with some design on the forearm instead of just a chunk of wood out there. All ideas needed .........

The Thumb Hole Stock is steady hold on right-left / no twist.

I have the one that TC put out.  I believe it is called Pepper laminate.  Possibly Rosewood?  It is a very nice LH Thumbhole stock.  Can a duplicator do a TH stock?  Tom.

I have two ambi stocks for GunstocksInc.  Since you end up doing the finishing you can really give them a nice custom look.  I think your friend will be pleased with their products.

Wish I had not seen this thread.  Now I have to explain to my wife why I need a new stock.  Jim

Forgot to mention in my earlier post, if you put a wood stock your Encore, consider putting a Sims Limbsaver recoil pad on it.  It significantly reduced felt recoil.  I started out with one on my wood Encore ( before I changed to the FlexTech stock) and have since put them on my other shotguns and rifles.
