Steel BLR .308 Should I buy?
« on: November 29, 2007, 05:06:47 PM »
Rifle is Japanese made, some light blue wear and stock dings, still looks nice.  The rear sight is gone, :( so I'd have to try to find a replacement.  Guy is asking $450 for it, does this sound right?  I admit having reservations after readings someones post that Browning no longer has parts for these.

You should be able to own that rifle for $400 and if you decide to sell it you will get your money back

I'd buy it, in a New York Minute.

I'd gripe about the missing sight as a price bartering tool, then either peep or scope it anyway & forget replacing the sight - since it's stamped anyway.

I would try and barter a little also but that price doesn't sound too bad any way . I know i wouldn't sell my mdl 81 steel 358 for that price or at all for that matter. Superdown

Demented:  Don't worry about parts - BLRs don't break.  Besides, if it is a '81 BLR model, many of the internal parts are the same as current models.  And, by the way, the price is in line with what I was paying for one a couple of years ago.
