17 HMR --17 Mach IV or 17 Ackley Hornet
« on: March 31, 2007, 12:44:48 PM »
It has been a while ago that I read about people converting the 17 HMR rimfire to either the 17 Mach IV or 17 Ackley Hornet.   The barrel being changed from the rimfire reciever to a centerfire reciever.  Is this sparking anyones memory?  If I remember right there is a smith over in Oregon that does the chambering and reworks the extractor.   Any information would be great.

I only know of discussion(links below) on the M4 and Ackley Hornet, no one that has done them that I recall, Trotterlg did a 17Rem from a 17hmr, there's a thread down the page on it.

Wayne York of Oregunsmithing has done several rechambers/rebores for me and a lot of other members here.
