Scope For the 45-70

I'm looking at the Bushnell Banner model 71-1436 1.75 x 4 x 32 scope for the 45-70 handi has anyone used this scope and if so did it stand up to the recoil. I have had that issue before where each shot the scope moved up the target. Right now I have one of the no name cheap 4x China made scopes on there and the only reason it is there is because it doesn't move. It isn't a very clear scope so I would like to improve the optics. But hate to buy something that won't stand the punishment. By the way I do use the cantilevered mount on the gun so I think the longer eye relief would be a benfit.

I use the Leupold 2x7x33 VX-1's on all my 45-70's...It doesn't move...and hold up well to the heaviest recoil..I'm sure some here use the Bushy's on them...

I put a Simmons 2.5x20 shotgun scope on mine. They are being sold by CDNN Sports on their website for $19.99. which is less than 1/2 price when they were sold retail.If I recall correctly Quickdtoo had originaly posted the information about these scopes.They have plenty of eye relief and so far it is  standing up to the recoil of  my heavy reloads. 2 1/2 x is all the magnification I need out to 150 yds or so.

First, let me say I am NOT a Bushnell fan....HOWEVER, I have had a Trophy 1.75x4 x32 on my 870 Wingmaster shooting 3" mag Copper Solids for 7 seasons....It has been thru all of the usual punishment a shot gun would put a scope thru INCLUDING being dropped 20+ feet to the ground from my treestand. Still holding zero! and I lost a turret cover several years ago at the range so one turret has been exposed for years! I put one wrap of electical tape on it during the season...I just can't give it up!

Maybe I just got a good one...can't say for sure but of all the scopes I've looked thru..NOTHING is clearer or brighter!

I just put a Bushnell Trophy 3-9x40 scope on my 45-70. This thing is very clear and bright. I have had one on my muzzleloader for about 8yrs with no problem. Look at www.budsgunshop.com they have the best price going on the Bushnell Trophy.

Nick, you're new here and don't know it yet, but The Optic Zone, a GBO sponsor, has an even better price on the Trophy, you'll be hard pressed to beat Jon's prices and service. ;) From what I've seen of Bud's shipping costs, I'll not be dealing with them, $16 for a CVA forend is ridiculous!! ::)

I have Bushnell Banner 3X9X40 on mime and it had held up very well.  I think most scopes fail due to improper mounting.  I only use Burris Signatire rings and never have had a problem.

I have a bushnell 4x32 that has been mounted 1.5" high on two handis.
Now it is on my 30-30.
Works good in the woods.
