Decided to fit my 357 max barrel to a sb2 frame. Sanded the pivot point until i got the barrel to latch. Will close on a piece of tin foil, but not a .002 feeler gauge. ( don't have a .001 gauge ) . So i think i got a pretty good fit. I wanted to use my polymer monte carlo stock from the original 357 rifle, but when i installed the fore-end. The barrel closes into the frame off to one side and won't latch all the time. So i tried the wood fore-end and it works great, closes right into the center of the frame and latches everytime. I would really like to use the poymer stock set. Just did the fitting and haven't really had time to look closer, but thought i would ask for some thoughts on this. I hope to get the full potential from the max on the sb2 frame. On the sb1 frame the primer would flow into the large firing pin hole and cause hard opening of the gun . Thanks for any advise.
