Saw the first groundhog today

Was driving down the road this morning and saw the first pig of the year out along the RR tracks and guess what , NO rifle , thought about taking the truck after it and desided better of that , as i just got it back from the body shop a couple months ago . 

Time to start keeping the 223 or 243 under the back seat .

Strange timing, my friend Barry up in PA wrote me in his daily e-mail to me today that he too saw his first one of the year tonight while out driving home.

I saw my first one about a week ago but not in a place where I could shoot it.  I need one for coyote bait.

i havent seen any here yet,  maybe soon  just need a little warmth an sun, i never kill any till after they drop their litters,  just me  i guess always thought id keep my shootin population up that way hahah

2 or three days after that date i shot my first groundhog of the year.

when i rode my motorcycle up there last summer i had a woodchuck greet me while i was waiting for someone to find me.i was more than alittle lost at that point.strange looking bugger.

My friend Barry up in PA who I wrote eariler saw his first the same day of this thread got his first kill of the year with his Ruger 1 Varmint in .204.

Saw the first one in Jefferson Co. area last weekend on a roadside.
