243 lock up

just recieved my barrel from darat100 which before that belonged to myarmor.
barrel is great.just to make sure the lock up is tight i want to ask a question.
i pu a piece of paper between barrel and reciever slammed it tight.cannot
pull paper out.this should be good to shoot with out any other fitting
correct?

Read my barrel fitting instruction in the FAQs, you need to check latch engagement too. ;)

smoked the latch.got a nice even line at about .037.even if this was not tottaly
correct i opened the calipers to .080 and it is way under that.hope i did this
right.

About .060"-.080" will work, closer to .060" would be ideal. Once the latch gets to the end of its travel as it wears the underlug, the barrel will be loose.
