« on: March 23, 2007, 01:42:29 AM »

Picture and description of new Rossi " Trifecta"...

Does anyone see it as I do ?..simply "butt-ugly"...?

No mention of any progress on an additional barrel program....

NEF should not lose any sleep..although they shouldn't even think of going to sleep ...LOL

I never really liked the Rossi's. I think they are trying to be a cheap knock off of the Handi.

I was going to buy one in 223 but luckily I handled one at the store first.
Plus they are made over seas.
Ended up ordering the handi.

EVERY model of firearm has some problems.I have a Rossi .223 that is a nicely made and accurate firearm. It's as good as a Handi.I think maybe some of us are being too judgemental without having owned a Rossi.
Oooooo,is this statement going to get me trounced on!!

Stan:

Maybe the other way round. Last week I offended some CVA owners in the staunch defense of our glistening Handi's. ;D

What a row that caused. ::)

My only gripe against Rossi is their continued claim to be working on an accessory barrel program which still hasn't happened. Those that I've held in stores seem to be fine for the price line which is less than an NEF, their combo 17hmr/410 sells for about the same price as a 17hmr Sportster. Their hammer is nice and low too.  ;) That's about all I can say about em, good or bad. :D

My Rossi 12 Guage slug gun is quite accurate with Brenneke 600 grain golden slugs.  The only thing I did not like was that the rear sight has to be offset quite a bit to one side to sight in.

I bought two of the 20 gauge/.22 combos for my girls. The .22 barrell shoots pretty good. The 20 gauge barrel kicks like a Missouri mule. (duh, light weight gun) I wish I had gotten the .410 combo instead. I am STILL waiting on the barrel program. I am STILL waiting for them to return my call form 3 or 4 weeks ago regarding when they would have a barrel program. I should have bought a Handi, but I wanted to start the kiddos with a .22, then get them a barrel to hunt with. At the time, H&R didnt have that option. Seems Rossi hasnt come up with it either. >:(

Seems they have finally let the barrel program go ???
Better that than to lead Rossi owners on for so long.

If Rossi has given up on the barrel program, they should remove it from the web site or correct it! ::)

NEF/H&R vs Rossi vs CVA... to me it's like Ford vs Chevy vs Dodge.  Each have their own pluses and each have their own set of quirks. And each one has a loyal following of die hard fans.  Hopefully each is making the others pay closer attention to their own products pricing, QC and options.  As for myself I am quite happy with the level of performance and quality per dollar payed for  my H&R's and my daughters Rossi youth combo as well.   Are they on a par with a Ruger No.1 or Remington Rolling Block?  Nope... but I haven't payed near $600 for the whole lot of them either.  ;)

I agree, they haven't updated it for this year yet either. Did they come out with any new offerings this year?

For this to be an H&R/NEF Forum I sure seem to read a LOT about Rossi and CVA here. Should we just combine them all into one?  ::)

Since were off topic already.  ;) I thought I saw an add somewhere, where knight was getting into the single shot market.
