I too have been considering the 320 LFNGC in 45 cal, and to that end I purchased some from Montana Bullet Works sized to .454 and lubed with LBT lube. They use Veral's moulds to produce them.
I loaded 2 different powders for the bullet in Starline cases and CCI 300 primers:
Unique 8.4 grains - which is a tenth under max that Lyman recommends for their 325 gr bullet on page 390 of the Lyman 48th Edition Reloading Handbook. I didn't chrono it, but it was probably traveling in the 850-900 fps range per the Lyman data.
Lil'gun 19.5 grains - which is a full grain under max that Hodgdon (
http://data.hodgdon.com/cartridge_load.asp) publishes for the 325 grain LFN from Cast Performance. (Cast Performance uses "LBT Style" bullets, but not Veral's moulds.) This load was estimated in the 1100+ fps range.
DISCLAIMER: before shooting these loads in your gun, go to the original sources listed above and keep in mind that my revolver is a a .454 Casull which can take much higher pressure than the normal .45 colt.
My revolver is a stock Ruger Super Redhawk .454 with a Leupold 2x scope.
So how did it shoot? I was quite pleased with the accuracy. Both loads put 4 of 5 shots inside a 3 inch circle at 75 yards. The stouter Lil'gun load shot groups a little tighter, but the Unique load had noticeably less recoil. Very pleasant to shoot, actually. They both printed at essentially the same point of aim at that distance.
While this is not rifle-like accuracy, I believe that the bullets are more accurate than I am. I shoot at a standard 50 foot pistol target, and at 75
yards the 3 inch black is almost completely covered by the junction of the cross-hairs on my scope! So this bullet is shooting as well as I can see.
