Got my Pro-Hunter
« on: February 17, 2007, 01:15:47 AM »
It arrived yesterday evening!
Didn't take very long. I ordered in (reserved it over the phone) on the 9th and sent an FFL and Postal Money Order that same day!

It is stainless and chambered in 280 Remington!

Now I need to get out and get a scope and mounts/rings.  I'm thinking of the Nikon Pro-Staff 3-9X40.  I see Midway has them for $169.95, so that's probably the way I'll go.

Can't wait to fire this rifle.  A real beauty and has a good feel to it.

Thanks Gordon I checked them out, but they went up $10.00 since you last checked!
None the less, they are good prices!

Guess that's where I'll get it!

Now I have to work up to a good load!
Lots of 140 gr Core Lokt's on my shelf.

Finally got to get out and shoot my new Pro-Hunter!

I didn't run any rounds through the Chrony.

I was shooting out of a lead sled, because it's the only shooting rest I have!  Then I tried a few off-hand!
I like the way this thing shoots!

Shooting at 100 yards using 52 grains of IMR 4350 behind 140 grain Rem Core Lokt PSP's!

Shot quite a few rounds and in the end I shot 2, 3-shot groups!  The first one was exactly 1 inch and the second was just over an inch, maybe 1 1/8 inch.

I ran a Bore Snake through it after every 3rd shot and allowed 5 minutes cooling time (with the barrel open) between groups.
