Best wife ever!

My birthday was yesterday and my wife(who hates guns) bought me a barrel in 45/70 for my encore :)  I was so happy!  Just thought I'd share with you guys :)

It's a blued 15"er, and I want to keep it with open sites.  Anyone know of any good site combinations that really work?  Just like to get some advice before I start looking..I don't care much for the stock ones...

Also, as I modified my stock forend for a bullberry barrel, I need a new forend.  Was thinking about ordering a rifle forend of appropriate barrel configuration and drilling an extra hole..what do you think?  I <3 long forends.

Sounds like you have a keeper (wife). Mine is working out well, she's bought me 5 barrels, 1 Zeiss spotter, 4-wheeler, Benelli Nova, etc., etc.

I had another hole drilled for my 15" 308 for the rifle forend, works out well for a bipod. My neighbor Karl Kenyon, (benchrest and custom trigger gunsmith fame) whipped it out in 15 min. I do notice the front screw does get loose after a lot of shooting.
