Need someone to put a barrel on my rolling block action
« on: September 17, 2007, 11:56:31 AM »
Hello,
I have a military rolling block action, US Remington made, with a rotary extractor, and I'm looking for someone to put a 45-70 barrel on it.  I'm looking to make a working rifle for range and hunting at a reasonable price, not a show piece or a 1000 yard target rifle, but I will be using it with black powder or American Pioneer maybe even some smokeless and lead bullets.
   Does anyone have a recommendation?

thanks and regards,
 graycg

Steve Durren at Johnson's Sporting Goods Adrian, MI 517-265-2545. He did mine in 40-65 with a 28" Green Mountain 1/2 octagon and 1/2 round. A full round barrel would be the cheapest.

Run a Google search for IT&D Custom Guns in Minerva, OH. He rebarrelled a Rem 700 for me and was doing a Rem Roller in 50-70 Govt. for a buddy. Will work with you on the metal work if you want to put sweat equity in the project. He has a web site now.
