I'm with you. I use the choke tube and sights the came with the barrel, and have had good results.

I just got mine today (the barrels have been really hard to come by around here), and hope to have it ready to use for opening day, this Saturday.  My friend has one.  He uses the factory sights, and a Primos Tightwad choke tube.  He shoots Winchester Supreme 3" 6's.  I've personally seen him take a bird at 56 yards, (ranged with a range finder) with no problem.  He also killed another last year that was ranged at 53 yards.  His success is why I've decided to switch from a Remington 870 to the Encore.

Tomorrow morning will begin the 3rd season for mine.  12 Ga., 20" barrel with factory sights and choke.  I haven't found a Tom yet who liked it.  With 3" Winchester Supreme #6's mine kicks like a little mule, but it's deadly on the other end.  Mine does pattern a little high with the sights all the way down, but I just hold about mid-neck and it does the rest.  Sure is easy for an old man to tote around too.  If this comin' storm will hold off 'til about midday I hope to listen to it roar about daylight tomorrow.  GOOD SHOOTIN', Walt   ;D ;D ;D

Hey Hopalong,

I see you're from Moneta, I'm just up the road in Stewartsville.  I do some hunting in Moneta, but not tomorrow, tomorrow I'll be towards the Peaks.  Were  you at the NWTF banquet in Moneta on Thursday?  Good luck to you tomorrow.  I'm hoping to try my new Encore barrel out tomorrow, if the weather holds out.

Hey VA guys. I have some property near Bodycamp, VA and hope to get back up there and hunt turkey this spring.  For now I'll have to be content fishing in the gulf. Trout are hitting topwater real well.
I'm going to buy a 20 ga barrel for my Encore. Several of my friends here in FL shoot these and really like the results.
Hope the weather clears for ya'll to hunt real soon. 8)

CaptGary,

Bodycamp is only about a 15 minute drive from the house.  If you need someone to help control the deer and turkey population while you're in Florida, let me know, I'll be glad to help out.  Good luck with the trout.
