Hatfield rifles vs. pedersoli blue ridge/frontier rifles
« on: February 18, 2007, 10:00:48 AM »
I just cleansed my self of a defective Hatfield rifle. After several trips to the gunsmith it became apparent that there just wasnt an iron large enough to iron the bugs out with. Luckiliy I bought it from a reputable dealer who did everthing in their power to make things right and then just refunded my money. It was a beutiful rifle, it was just falling apart.

After asking around it seems as though these rifles have a bad reputation although they look very nice. It also seems that the Pedersoli guns are exact copies of the Hatfields. Are they any better made than the Hatfield guns?

After all the lock and trigger issues I had with the Hatfield I am reluctant to try anything that copies it, but I really like their looks.

Scott.
Hi NSA! Can you see how many fingers I am holding up?

well i been waiting to see what others had to say  . so i guess i will chime in .
i have not had good exsperiances with the pedersoli blue ridge/ hatfeild / whatever the  call it  every few years .
the one i dealed with was just junk and was in mu shop probably 5 times .
now others however seem to have very good luck with them . maybe the one that passed through my shop was just a lemon ??? dont know .
i would say that as a rule though pedersoli  makes a lot better rifle then the hatfeild  company did

My dad bought a Blue Ridge several years ago and it misfiredor hang fired terriblyand wasn't accurate to boot. We finally rebarreled with a 45 cal. green mountain and put a musket nipple on it. he killed a buck at 118 yards with it last year

I've had my Hatfield for 19 years & have had no problems.  But I probably only have shot  about 30 to 40 rounds per year.
