Price and Comments on Ruger Hunter Revolvers
« on: August 03, 2006, 03:17:58 AM »
I own a FA83 44 magnum that I love, but a firend's Bisley Hunter in 44 mag has really impressed me...so...I am very interested in getting both the 41 Mag Bisley Hunter [special run from Davidson's] and a 22/22 mag Hunter revolver.  I lke the 41 mag and love the option of hunting with open sights or scope so easily with the Hunter design.

I live south of Buffalo and the pistol carrying gunshops around here...aren't!  We have very few so I don't get to do many price checks on new revolvers.  Anyone give me an idea of what these guns should run new?  Anyone have them and have any comments about them.

Regards,

Rimfire

How far South of Buffalo do you live?  You could always stop at the Buffalo Gun Center and price one out...Right there on Harlem by the 33...I believe when I purchased my Ruger SBHH 44Mag is was about 5 billls...Check it out.

Keep an eye on either Gun Broker or Auction Arms for one. Or even check at GunsAmerica. If you're patient, you should be able to find one. On one of the sites, there was a .41 Hunter listed as cheap as dealer pricing thru Davidson’s. I thought seriously about making the purchase, but didn't. If the gun is out of state and you pay directly, you should save the sales tax, which should more than offset the S&H and dealer transfer fee. Good Luck!

If you do purchase a gun from out of state though please make sure that it is approved for sale in NYS and that it comes with the spent cartridge casing...Just another ridiculous hoop that NYS makes us responsible and legal gun owners go through.

I have a .22/.22 Magnum Hunter and love it... Have not fired any Long Rifle ammo from it yet though...

I am waiting to find the matching gun in .41 Magnum (used) but the Super Blackhawk not the Bisley gripframe...

Anyone seen any of those Bisley Hunter's in 41 for Sale recently?  Would really like to get one this year if I can.

Any SBH Hunter shouldn't be over $525.  I paid under $500 for my 45Colt hunter.  Would've really liked to get one in .41 mag also but waited too long.  While I'm not big on the .44 I may grab a used Bisley hunter in .4 that I saw yesterday.  Scoped with a Burris for under $500.  the .41's do appear now and then still but you can expect them to be closer to $600 used.
