installing new firing pin for Uberti
« on: April 03, 2007, 05:03:21 AM »
I need a new firing pin for my Uberti model P, it started to misfire once in awhile and I noticed the very end of the firing pin was getting pretty flat, plus there was a lot of play also.
I drifted out the old hammer pin and removed the firing pin, and have ordered a new firing pin and hammer pin.
I noticed the old hammer pin is bent pretty good....is this from the firing pin battering it over time? Haven't received my new pins yet....was wondering if there is anything special I'll need to do to reinstall the new firing pin.  Or will the new hammer pin just drift right in and be tight? Will i need to peen the ends or anything?

Thanks

Jim

It should install as it was removed. Usually there is no problem,..
