A couple thousand out of mine at least and no problems.  The Encore and Contender frames have a lifetime warranty anyway; if it breaks, T/C fixes so shoot away.

I also have shot quite a bit through mine, in .44mag pistol, so far so good. Definatly won't say that about my G2, mine was a piece of junk compared to my encore.

Interesting comment about the G2; with many thousands in use I have not heard that said before.  Why do you consider it to ge "a piece of junk" compared to a larger, heavier pistol with considerably different design parameters?

All my Contenders are pre-G2.   I have nearly 8,000 rounds through one frame and over 6,000 through another, they are both still tight and accurate.

Generally the complaints have been about Encores from those who shot G2s.  There were a fair number of complaints from folks who never saw a G2 but preferred the original.  I have three G2s along with original Contenders and really have no complaint about any of them.  I also would like to know how the G2 failed you.

My G2 would pop open when fired! Sent it back twice and they never got it right. Load was .44mag with mid range loads.
My Encore has never popped open with any load.

I wouldn't like that either.  None of mine have done that or I would have been upset as well.  I don't have a 44 mag, but they worked well with hot 45 Colt loads and with 170 grain factory 3030 loads.   I am surprised TC didn't fix it.  They have done well for me in the past, but I only had one Contender problem.  The other times were with black powder stuff.
