how 2 improve marlin 336 accuracy
« on: April 06, 2007, 02:06:26 PM »
hello;

have 3 marlin lever action rifles, 1894, 336, and 30as.  the 30as (30/30) will shoot 1.5 moa or less groups with any type of ammo i feed it all day long.  my 336 (30/30) will not shoot anything.  for what it is worth, the 30as does not have a good trigger, 336 trigger is great.  any suggestions on improving 336 accuracy?  thanks for any input.

OK, those are good bullets but your charges are really light, below Hodgdon's suggested starting loads.  You probably aren't getting enough pressure to insure consistent ignition with those ball powders.
