You have folks that reload to shoot and folks that shoot to reload. That is to say, some prefer range time and some prefer shop time. (there's room for us all and all the ones in the middle)
Most of my reloading is done after dark because if the sun is shining, I want to be shooting. That said, life is too short to be looking for ubiquitous little trap doors around flash holes. And weighing cases. That said, I've never trimmed a flash hole nor weighed a case. I "fire cull" my brass. After the first firing, I trim to a uniform length, chamfer and load. During my load work up or during my practice firing, if I get an unexplainable, errant round, I mark the case. The next time around, if it isn't tightly in the group, its pitched.
No matter how much anal stuff you do to a case, it still has to be fired to find the truth about it.
