Buckmark sights questions
« on: April 14, 2007, 01:06:48 PM »
How many of you Buckmark owners have swapped out the front sights?  Is it me, or are the stock iron sights a bit high.  Seems like I really had to crank that rear sight up a lot to get POI.  I don't like having the rear sight up so high.  Is there a "low profile" Fiber Optic sight that works well?
I have a Micro with the 4" barrel.  Wishing now I would have gotten the 5 1/2" barrel.  Thanks

I have two of the 5.5" bucks and have not changed out the front sight.  I own a first year production Buck and the rear sights looked like something off of a BB gun.  I purchased a new top strap and have not looked back.
To lower the front sight, get a file and file it down.  Set the rear where you want it and file away.  A little flat black paint fixes every thing.  Staying with the same angle may be your best bet.  If your creative and want to make a flat spot across the top great.
Before I did anything I would make sure I have a small group and am not breathing out on the trigger break.
I use mine for target and small game and need to go over 6" for NC.
They do offer other barrels from the factory and Tactical Solutions offers all kinds of aluminum barrels in all kinds of weights.
