decided on a new Model 83
« on: April 04, 2007, 02:56:19 PM »
I decided to get a new not used model 83. I called around and got some prices today, the best was $ 2,129.00 . this is for a Model 83 premier grade .454 casull 7.5 inch barrel with additional cylinder in .45 colt. I called three different gun shops in my area and this was the best I could do. I'm going tomorrow to put a deposit down on it. How does this price sound to you guys?

Well worth the price but have you considered an online auction such as Gunbroker.com? I bet you could save a couple of bucks if price is your only concern. If not, I find no problem with supporting your local gun store even at list price.

Boy, I wish I'd gotten that deal when I bought mine!

Well I did look on gunbroker and almost bought one from there. But the gun was used and wasn't much cheaper, so I decided to go new. I also looked at the new guns there and they were not any cheaper than what I spent, Price was a big concern, but so was warranty. with a new gun you get a lifetime warranty ,so I feel more comfortable.
Anyway, I can't wait to get to shoot that thing. My dealer could not tell when it would be in, he only said two to six weeks!!! It'll be the longest two to six weeks I've had in quite a while.
