Winchester push feed

Can the Winchester push feed be modified to controlled feed on the M70 ?

Not that I am aware of.  The pushfeed model 70 is a good action, one of my most accurate rifles is a pushfeed model 70.

 I just bought a Model 670 magnum 7mm mag...It is very accurate since I free floated the barrel but when I am cycling a new round it wants to spit it out the side before it reaches the chamber...I know how controlled feed grabs the round and doesn't let go till it is in the chamber and the bolt closed...I have to put my finger on the round to help guide it into the chamber...
 I had a Black Shadow 7mag and 300 mag with the new controlled push feed, I never had any problems with those...I just wonder if there is anything one can do to correct this problem.

It sound like a feed problem but I boubt you could convert to controled round feed.. Likely the feed lips on the magazine are releasing the round too soon. The follower spring can them pop it out the ejection port. I've seen converted mausers that would pop half their rounds onto the ground.. Take the rifle to a competant smith. This shouldn't be a hard thing to do.  Was the rifle rebarreled at some point?  I don't remember the 670 being factory chambered to the 7Mag.. If so that's a likely cause of the problem..

  The 670 was produced in 7mm Rem Mag in  1967 and '68 and it is the original stamped barrel...I will look at the magazine to see if that is where the round is releasing...

The round should not jump from the gun from the magazine spring. This is not a condition endemic to the push feed guns so converting to CR feed won't fix it.. Fixing the magazine will.. Good luck..
