custom handi calibers

I had my NEF converted to 30/30 A.I. I don't know why, maybe because I wanted one for years and the gunsmith did it for free.....

If I could get that kind of deal, I'd have mine done too.  I'm not to sure I could do it myself and not screw it up.

32 H&R and 7/30 Waters are two calibers Ill forever feel H&R really missed the boat on!!  Today Id grab a 327 Fed in a NY Minute!!!

I would still totally jump on a .32H&R Mag barrel.

Probably would only shoot .32sw longs in it although I do have 100 new Starline brass in .32H&R Mag that could be loaded for it.

You know, Chazel sells an insert barrel in 327 for your shotgun. And you are correct, you can chamber: .32s&w, .32s&w long, 32 h&r mag, 327 mag, and 32 auto. That's really flexible IMO. Should work well in my Tracker I h&r. I'm looking forward to trying mine out.

   I told myself NO MORE but my mind starts turning and I get ideas…..  I do have a lonely 20 ga. H&R topper and a 7mm barrel blank sitting around collecting dust so maybe one more shotgun to rifle project, this one will be in 7-30 Waters.  In a single shot rifle with no OAL restrictions and the abilities to use pointed bullets it should be a perfect choice for most of my deer hunting needs.
The only thing is I have 3 or 4 dozen other rifles that will do the same. 
Anyway it will probably be winter time before I start it. I have the shotgun, the barrel, the ejector ( 30-30 ), and a scope base already sitting around, and I just bought a die set for it, I may have to rent the reamer.

  I just finished a 7-30 Waters Handi stub build. It has potential to become a favorite amongst favorites.

I have a few oddballs like 348 Win, 7-30 Waters, 360 Buckhammer, and a 45cal smokeless muzzleloader made from a 45-70 barrel.

I'd find a Handi to make a 360BH.

  The Handis were a great design and value.  Has there cropped up yet, a suitable replacement?  As of now, i have only one remaining...a Versa-pack..

   I do have a CVA in .44 Mag, and it is good for that task...but for rimfires, were they available, a lighter frame would be more desireable.

A friend has a stainless cva 45/70.
Comparing it to my H&R 444, it
seems clunkier putting it to my
shoulder. Maybe just perception,
I don't know. Might be sturdier
heavier material. Don't know about
that either. Mine shoots as well
as many other rifles I've shot of
different actions, and I've killed
a good many deer and swine with
it at one round each expended.
I don't know the stats for his, or
if he's even tried to hunt with it.
Henrys are good looking, and
well built ( according to those
I know that have one)
I'm not fond of the "beavertail"
barrel latch lever after using the
H&R/NEF thumb lever for so
many years. It doesn't drive
back into the web of my hand.
Also, those few I know with a
Henry say that it's heavy and
unwieldy after toting it for a
few hours. ( no experience
with that myself)
Even Dave Canterbury says that
" carrying a Henry is like carrying
a brick "

  I think you may be right, my .44 seems a bit clunkier than the old H&Rs...which ios why I said for sure..for rimfires a lighter, handier frame would be required.

Yeah,  everybody's different though.
I know some people that tell me my Handis
are too lightweight. Yeah, if you're firing
repeatedly off of a benchrest, yes it
would be. I always tell them that when I
am shooting one after another that I
wear a PAST pad and there's practically
no recoil.  I never feel any recoil in the
field shooting an animal the one time.
CVA might have made those rifles
heavier on purpose for shooter comfort
at the bench. I don't know.
My scoped 444 H&R with one up the
spout and 5 in the stock sleeve and a
scope weighs a smidge less than 8 pounds
on my cheesy fish scale. Too much
for some, not enough for others.
It's been a good one after the factory
fixed their mistake under the new
warranty. Can't remember exactly,
but I think that the man ( Brian?)
that was a H&R repair tech and
posted on GB replaced my barrel
and tweaked it some because after
sending a few downrange like the
others suggested, it's a tack driving
meat machine. I'd genuinely hate
for it to be gone
