38 Special Snake Shot

Does anyone besides CCI make snake shot?
I don't reload, so that's not an option.
I though Reed might, but couldn't find it. Any makers out there?

Winchester in .22 and Remington in .45acp , not sure anyone else in .38 , wish they would maybe the cost would go down !

There is a box of 50 in an MTM flip top box listed for sale now on the classifieds. He priced it and a box of .380 together rather than separately and I suggested he separate them and price each. Seems a little high to me as a reloader but maybe not if you don't reload and he might come down also.

Saw em, GB, kinda scared of an individuals reloads, though...Kinda pricey, for reloads, I think, too.

Wonder why Reed doesn't make some?

Did he ever respond to my question asking if factory or reloads? They do look to be factory not reloads but it's really hard to be sure from the photo. Have you asked Ron about it? He might make up a batch for you even if it's not a regular stock item. I don't know that he will be asking would be the way to find out.

Nope, no reply, and the cases look nickel plated, to me, not aluminum, so I figured reloads. Thanks.

back in the old days before anyone started commercially loading snake shot we used to put a 3 grains of Bullseye in a 38 special case, followed by a piece of corrigated pasteboard, filler up with # 9 bird shot, leaving enough room for a cardboard cap with a little hot wax to seal the deal.
On the 45acp side, same load, except now we used 410 guage shotcups cut down with sicissors and a 38 (I believe it was) gas check topper, which was ran thru the criping die to secure it. All this was loaded in a cut down 308, or 3006 brass. Revovler brass was much easier.
