Talley + Pro-Hunter ???
« on: May 06, 2007, 04:14:25 AM »
I  bought a Thompson Encore Prohunter rifle 25-06.

my scope is a Leupold VariX-3  4.5-14x40mm

I take a look for a Talley one piece mount.

I want to know what's the right height for my scope,

i have check on there site and they said LOW for a scope up to 44mm objective.

To make sure, i've ask them by email and the answer was Medium.

I'm confused, i reply them for a confirmation and no answer at all.

If you have this kind of set-up can you tell me which one exactly i should order???

thx

yves

Yeah you need the medium setup.  I just put a 4.5-14x40 buckmaster on my Encore and the only problem you might encounter is the long eye relief of the Leupys.  This setup is fitted more for shorter scopes w/ less eye relief.  My scope is seated about as far forward as possible on the mounts, but it works.  Your scope is a bit shorter than my Nikon so you might be fine.  The talleys are awesome and worry free if they fit you for eye relief - good luck.  Brett

Thanks Brett,
I'm not familiar with Talley.
I don't really know how there made, i just saw one picture on there site, and that's all....
I have check the number and i saw an Extended version ?
How are they extended ? from the back  or from the front.
Should it be an issue ? or i should really stay with the standard model ?
A+
