ringed slugs

have any of you  tried out a ringed slug? you can make one out of any shot shell.take a sharp knife and cut around the wad above the wad cup leave just a little bit of shell holding  it together slide it in and fire.works great leaves a hole like a wad cutter would. so if you are in a bind and need a slug try this. i got the idea and instructions from " poormmans james bond" by delta press. try a dove  or target load if interested,you will be surprised ,any ?/comments bill myers /remwingmaster@peoplepc.com

This idea was popular enough at one time that someone manufactured a device to ring shells.  I think it was set up for paper shells.  My guess is that it was for a bird hunter who might jump a deer, where game regulations did not allow you to carry both types of shells at once.
