Chattahoochee National Forest
« on: April 10, 2007, 01:18:02 PM »
I have a buddy that lives  near the Chattahoochee National Forest in  northern Georgia and I was thinking about heading up that way to hunt hogs in the fall. I wonder if anyone lives up that way that could tell me how the hog hunting is up there? I'm assuming that we probably couldn't bait them in a National Forest, but I don't know for sure, so you might comment on that as well.

I couldn't tell you anything about Chattahoochee, but I've been studying the state regs in preparation for a south GA hunt.

Hog hunting over bait is illegal without a special permit, even on private land.

Good luck!

Plan your hunt around the 2 w's....water and wallows.  Hogs have no sweat glands, so they have to be around water to cool themselves.  That could help narrow the terrain you hunt.
