Are the new 750 worth the price?
« on: April 03, 2007, 09:50:39 AM »
About a year or two ago I held a brand new 7400 synthetic 30-06 and it was on sale for just under $450.  I almost bought it.  Now I'm think I should have because the 750's are another couple hundred bucks on top of that!  Is the 750 that much of an improvement over the 7400?  Looks to me like a different stock and a higher price.  I have only shot an older 7400 so I don't know about any difference between that and the newer 750's.  Just curious.

Thanks

Go to Semi-auto and pump hunting rifles forum, you'd probably find the answer.

I paid 560- for mine and YES it was well worth the money  I sold it to my brother only because i was looking for a much lighter rifle and even though it never jammed i just cant seem to use semi-autos for the fear of them jamming . I never had any problems with it and my brother is having no problems its a 22" 35 Whelen and it was also very accurate. If you are paying more then that i still say its worth the money.

Good point about the BAR.  Now that the 750's are a little higher in price, they're competing with the BAR's.  The old 7400's were a no brainer when you compared price tags with a BAR.  Very good point.

I'd say 750 is worth the price. I have one in .308WIN carbine and its cost $560. Shoot very good. My brother bought $800 for BAR stalker and only hunt on weekend during deer season open and shot one. That's silly.
