Rimfire Henry: round vs octagonal barrel?
« on: December 04, 2007, 01:03:25 PM »
Thinking seriously about getting a Henry rimfire for smallbore Cowboy Rifle Silhouette.

Will more than likely go with the octagonal barrel model (H001T) as I like the look but are there any actual advantages/disadvantages to either barrel?

Thanks.

Not really. The only one is the octagon may weigh a tad more. I haven't noticed any other than that.

You should look into this.   I think the H001T has a dovetail front site, where the H001 has a plastic barrel band/front site.
If its true, I would go with the H001T just for this reason alone.

Henry will send a replacement band if needed and then you can get a metal site from the links in the stickys at the top of the page. ;D
