A while back, I posted a description of a serious case rupture I had with a new Remington 504 in 17 M2 ( http://www.gboreloaded.com/forums/index.php/topic,117778.0.html)

I called Remington and they did the following for me:

• Sent me a padded box to return the 504
• Paid for the shipping back to the factory
• Kept in reasonably close touch about the status of the repair (except when the customer service rep was on vacation)
• Gave me several options when the 504 was found to have chamber damage from the case rupture, including a free centerfire rifle of my choice and caliber (since the 504 is out of production). This included a Model 7 CDL with a MSRP of $900! (that one was hard to turn down, believe me).
• After some back-and-forth discussions, agreed to buy a new 504 from the same dealer I had ordered my first one from, paying the shipping and transfer fees
• And, finally, they are sending me a quantity (not specified) of 17 M2 ammo

So, am I happy that I had a serious problem with the 504 and lost about two months of shooting time? No. However, I have to say I am very impressed with Remington’s customer service and feel they did everything they could under the circumstances. The 504 is also simply a great gun (1/2” groups at 50 yards the first time out), so, did Remington succeed in keeping me as a customer? You bet.

Rem is lucky it was you. If they made me that offer, the temptation to get a 264 Sendero may have been unbearable!!!   ;D ;D ;D.
I am glad it worked out well & I am impressed with the way they stepped up to the plate. I hope this is an indicator of the new owners, but at any rate, very good.

Always good to hear when customer service steps up and does everything they can to make customer happy!If that had been me,might just took them up on the Model 7 CDL.Glad to hear you are happy,after all thats what matters.

Ill bet we hear about 99% of the pissed off people and .5% of the people who received good service.Its nice to see a report about Rem that isnt someone not happy about this or that,i have ordered a rifle from thier custom shop and received it in under two weeks and returned one of thier POS 597s with a full refund,both times they treated me very well.
If it aint fair chase its FOUL,and illegal in my state!

Yeah, that's why I wanted to give them credit where credit is due. If this is an indicator of how Remington will be under the new ownership, things are looking good

I think if it was me, I would have insisted on choosing the Model 7 Mannlicher that Remington sells out of the Custom Shop....   MSRP $2700.00 

Not that they meant the Custom Shop offerings, but I would have attempted it.  Sometimes you just never know....

Good to hear they took care of you! I would have pushed a new Sendero or the that new XCR Tactical. Who am I kidding, I could never make up my mind, 2 many models to chose from  ;D

I sincerely hope this is because of the new management.

On another note, I bet this thread only gets about 10 replies because its an optimistic topic. If it was negative, there'd be 50 posts already. *sigh*

If it were negative there would be 50 haters on here chiming in with how much they hate remingtons products and service.I cant believe there arnt more people sharing positive experiences with various firearm manufacturers here.

You know, I don't want to take too much from a single incident, but the customer rep I dealt with has clearly worked for Remington for quite a while, and I can't imagine that she would leave too many unsatisfied customers, IF they are being reasonable themselves. I wonder if folks are either asking for too much, aren't going through the right channels, or maybe reps don't do as well?

That little Custom Shop M7 MS is for sure the one I'd have asked for first and once they told me to get real  ;D I'd have taken one of the new this year LSS Mtn. Rifles in .280 Remington.

I've owned more Remington long guns than all other brands combined and had darn few instances when I neeed their Customer Service to come to my aid. But so far not one single time have they ever failed me or caused me to spent one red cent of my money to get a gun taken care of other than some shipping a couple times to get it to them. I've been saying for years I have doubts about the reports both of poor quality and of poor customer service from Remington. I've just got too much experience with their products to take most of the internet claims of poor quality or service seriously.

Yeah, the 7MS, ooohh, in 35 Remington, of course (cuz they do)....I dreamed of getting one one day, but now with a price tag of some $2700, it ain't gonna happen.
