trade my buckmark for a p22?
« on: November 29, 2007, 06:50:37 PM »
hi, this is my first post here, so i'm looking for some really good advicejavascript:void(0);
Grin. i have a nickel plated, flat sided, short barrel buckmark with laminated grips. my brother has a p22 with a short barrel, and a few accessories. he has had the gun replaced by walther, because of earlier jamming issues. it shoots fine now. my buckmark is accurate, and shoots just about any ammo. it's a great target gun, but kind of awkward to carry around in a holster, so i usually only use it for plinking. the p22 is lighter, but not as accurate, or nice of a trigger. i don't plink or target shoot like i used to, so accuracy isn't a big deal. what are your opinions on this trade? is the p22 as durable, as reliable as the buckmark? would you make the trade? any opinions will help. thanks!!

Depending on the model they seem to be pretty close in price . but would i trade for a less accurate gun with a worse trigger that doesn't like as wide array of ammo . NO. There are plenty of different types of holsters out there i think you could probably find one that works better for you . Superdown

Kinda like tradin a sports car for a pickup.   ::)  I'd want to trade too if I had the p22.

I had a similar situation.  I had a Ruger that had been accurized and is very accurate, but since I have a red dot sight on it, it is not very handy for carrying.  I wanted a P22 since I could easily carry it in the woods.  My solution was to keep the Ruger and buy the P22.

The guns serve 2 different purposes, so I could justify the purchase.  If I could have only 1, I would take the Ruger, removing the red dot so it was easier to holster.  It is still reasonably sized, unlike my Contender, and can be carried all day.  It is just not as concealable, but that is not a factor.

well, i decided to trade, it is my little brother after all. i bought the buckmark from him originally, for a really good price. he's been begging me to sell it back to him for years. i've only shot the buckmark a handful of times, as i'm into shotguns and rifles. he'll put the buckmark to a better use than me. i went to the local gunshop and checked out a new p22. i really liked the way it fit in my hand. i think i'd be more likely to carry the p22 because of the smaller size and weight. he is including a laser sight, 2 holsters, 3 clips. i told him he also will owe me "one" for a future trade, as we do stuff like this all the time. thanks for the help everyone.
