Depends on the time of year..
Right now it is anything that decides to damage my garden !
My 17 M2 will do the dirty deed of splatting them..
Blue Jays, Starlings , Crows and Chipmunks ( Georgia Prairie dogs  ;) )
are primary targets.

the airfoce talon is the best gun for in and out hunting and yes the buttstock is the tank on the talon. i don't know about that other gun is some kind of 308 or 50bmg that i saw somewere.

I shoot prairie dogs with my son many times during the year. Our weapon of choice is a bull barreled Contender carbine in .204 Ruger. But we include a couple Savage bolt rifles in 22-250 AI, 6mm and some other stuff.

Shooting prairie dogs all year long ,whenever the temp in over 40 degrees and the wind is under 15 MPH , is my sport.. The 17 rim fire rifles are used on prairie dog pups . The 221 Fireball  and 204 Ruger are used on the survivors during the summer and fall. By late fall ,winter ,and untill the pups come out in the spring the 22-250 Rem, 220 Swift, and 243 Win is used for the longer range prairie dog shooting. I have used the 223 Rem but the 204 Ruger has about replaced it like the 17 rim fires has replaced my 22 rim fire rifles for prairie dog pup shooting. I,ll be getting a 17 Fireball to try out but I dont know if I ,ll get a Remington or some other brand rifle.

Most of mine is done here in south eastern PA with the woodchuck persuasion.  Around the house I shoot whatever comes in to messing with my garden or property. Chucks are a must kill, pretty sure there is a yote or two giving us some trouble, but haven't had time or chance to get after him.  Also shoot every muskrat I get a look at because they have all but deystroyed my pond in the past couple of years.  I use my NEF handi in .223 for most of these needs. I also use my ruger .22lr bolt for shorter shots and messing around since the ammo is cheaper. I can use my AR, but I don't have the mounts for the scope I have and don't want to buy a new one right not.  For any longer shots and just for pure surity of the kill, my .223 with the Burris 4.5-14 has become my stand by. Wouldn't mind having something in the .204 ruger though
