Has anyone here shot the Sellier&Bellot 22LR ammo in a Ruger MK-II, or any weapon for that matter?
I know some people hate S&B ammo, but I have had some really good luck with it, most recently with my P-95. That stuff shot really good. And believe it or not, it was very easy to clean after shooting. Nice and accurate too. Any feedback is appreciated.

I'm wondering if their rimfire ammo has that sorry old bullet lube that is sticky. That would be about the only thing that held me back. Or steel cases. They are brutal on a chamber and I would rather not use steel cased ammo.

Speaking of strange ammo, I have some Russian made "Junior" 22LR ammo that is steel cased, and it is very accurate. I've made some good shots with it, but it has TWO negatives against it, that being steel cases and a nice HEAVY coating of some kind of lube on the bullet. But man oh man, are they accurate little things in a bolt action rifle. Unfortunately, after some shooting they start to be VERY hard to extract. I haven't seen that Junior ammo around in a long time either. I have about 800 rds. of it left, with one full brick still sealed up (they use some kind of wax coat to seal their bricks). I couldn't beat the deal I had on it, which was $9.00 a brick.

I just called S&B Usa at their 800 number and they told me the 22lr has BRASS casings. So, that much I know now. I think I will grab me a box or two of the stuff and see how it does.

If I'm not mistaken S&B ammo is ALL brass cased. I never have seen any steel cases from S&B. Am I right?

I have some 7.62x39mm in S&B that is a gray colored steel case. But that is some older ammo. I'm biting at the bit wanting some S&B ammo, but still hesitant because I don't want to buy ammo that has gobs and oodles of "lube" on the bullet that gums up everything.

I gotta say I've never seen or heard of any steel-cased rimfire ammo. Of course, that doesn't mean it doesn't exist - only that I've never seen any. How on earth, though, would you get a firing pin to dent the rim enough to fire the stuff?

If you've got some rimfire stuff - or any other ammo, for that matter - you think might have a steel case, a magnet should tell you soon enough.
