New Model 110 Question
« on: January 05, 2007, 03:10:36 PM »
In the Savage catalog they state "with new hinged floorplate". To date I have not seen one with a hinged floorplate. All I've run across are the clip fed or blind magazine. When I ask the "experts" behind the counters of some of our foremost outfitters ,etal, I come out thinking,(knowing) I just left them with more information than they could possibly comprehend in any given 8 hour shift. So with that said I've come to the Savage forum at Greybeard to get the info I need. I'm asuming by hinged floorplate, their talking about something similiar to say, Ruger or Winchester, fixed magazine w/floorplate or are they keeping the clip "on" a hinged floorplate? Or is there something I'm not undersatnding here. Thanks in advance. CRASH87

Savage has several models with a hinged floorplate.  Here's one on their web site, there are more.

I'd expect these to be like a Ruger, only Browning makes one on the A Bolt with a "clip" attached to the floorplate that I'm aware of.

Sometimes they may have only older stock on hand at the store.  They dont generally have model year close outs like the car dealers.  At a Gander mts. in Mi they still dont have any 17 HMRs with the accutrigger.  They are selling them at the price like they do.  I guess I will buy mine somewhere else and some poor fool buy a 2 year old gun.

My questions have been answered. In the 2007 catalog it states that the Model 14/114 "Classic" has the hinged floorplate, (and they have a picture). The American Classic and the Euro Classic are clip fed. Yes, it is similiar to the hinged floorplate found on Rugers, Remingtons, etc. CRASH87
