What's this mean..."improved transfer bar"??

[Ruger Single Six 22LR/22 Mag. Limited production of only 500 of these were manufactured by Ruger exclusively for Davidson's in Prescott, Az. These were the only Classic Single Revolvers ever produced with the improved transfer bars. Copy of Ruger factory letter sent from J. Thompson Ruger, V.P. Marketing of Ruger, to Davidson's on 8-16-89 included.

  Refer's to the transfer bar added to the new Model single actions.  Allowed safer carrying of 2 chambered cartridges.

So, the "old" model Single Six's did not have a transfer bar safety?  OK, so this add must refer to the '"old" model SS that had transfer bars installed especially for Davidson's.  OK  Thanks

  ahhh, no.  Well yes that the Old Model Single sixes didn't have the transfer bar but no about the rest.  Not sure exactly what is meant by "Classic Single Revolvers" but Davidson's doesn't get that much preferencial treatment nor would Ruger produce and non-transfer bar models in a New Model especially for any one run.  davidson didn't start contracting special distributor runs until long afte the new Moels entered production. 
  Any better info with specific or a picture of the revolver in question?

The New Models, with their transfer bars, were introduced in 1973. I don't know what "classic single" means, either. I suggest you inquire on the www.rugerforum.com, under the "collectors and collectibles" section, particularly asking "flatgate" for his views. The best Ruger experts can be found there.
