Banner vs Trophy?

I know this is a little off topic, but many of you guys seem to praise the banners.  How does the trophy compare to the banner?  I am in need of a new 3-9 scope and my local guy is selling the trophy with a new set of bushnell binos.  Just curious, are you guys as pleased with the trophy as the banner?  I bought my first banner not long ago.  Very pleased with it.  By far my favorite scope.

the 'Trophy' is a little more expensive so you may be getting a 'better' scope.    however, i don't see a Trophy with the long eye relief you can get with the IER Banner which provides 6" ER'.   for me, that 'IER' model # 713947 has proved just right.   it's perfect on a Vanguard i have, so i've bought two more.   the Banner also comes with a 'Limited Lifetime' warranty so what more is needed.    the Banners i bought were made in Korea so that makes me happy, too.    i don't want a scope made in China by a political prisoner!    i don't know where the Trophy's are made.

i don't worry about the Banner's parallax setting on that model.   i figure the deer is mine inside of 300 yds' if i do my job.    i've never shot at a deer that far off yet, anyway.

I have both and to be honest can't tell any difference. The Trophy is on my 06 Winchester and the Banner my 06 Handi. Neither has changed point of impact since I set them. Both 3x9.

I have had no problem whatsoever with either the Banners or the Trophys.  The two Trophys I've got right now were made in the Philippines.

ok, this may be a stupid question.  How do you know where they were made?  does it say so on the scope somewhere?

I may be way off base here, but my impression was always that the Trophy and the Banner lines used the same lenses.  I THINK that the Bushnell rep told me that the Trophy had a better erector system.  Basically, you are paying more for better "guts".  That they have the same lenses but that the Trophy will track more consistently.  If you aren't ranging and changing then I would just buy the Banner.  I can get the Trophy for $79 plus a free spotting scope, so that is what I have been buying.

Jon at The Optic Zone told me the Legend and Trophy are made in the Philippines, the Banner is/was made in Korea/PRC, the 3200/4200 are made in Japan. I would post your question in the Optics Forum, or just email Jon, he can also tell you the basic differences.

The scopes should be marked either on the bottom of the ocular bell or tube.
