Where's a good place to go Moose Hunting?

Where's a good place to go Moose hunting?  Not this season but next year my father in law and I would like to go moose hunting.  We're open to anything but it would be great if it wasn't more than a 20hr drive from North East Indiana.  I'm thinking somewhere in Ontario, but I don't know of anything.  I'd like to go somewhere where we could buy a tag over the counter, definately see moose, and each harvest a bull without putting up a second mortgage on our houses.  We're both easy going and flexible guys that don't need anything fancy, just a great hunt. 

Any suggestions would be great!

well ontario is a hard place for residents to get a tag and is even harder for a non resident.  a good spot to look into would be quebec, from what i here, for every 2 hunters you get 1 bull tag.  im not sure what the requirements are for american hunters or if it is just the same as an ontarion going over there.  do some research.

Newfoundland is your best bet It takes us 10 hours to get there from Maine We hunt 2 hours from Port au baux tons of Moose
and fairly cheap as Moose hunts go

For the Maine NR moose draw -- I know it's a long shot but...does anyone have recommendations as to which WMD's to apply for?  Any helpful info would be appreciated.  Thanks, Rev

 I prefer zone 6 for Moose I know by looking at it on a map compared to alot of other wilderness type places it would not be some ones first choice. However the place is crawling with Moose. Farmers often get permits to shoot Moose that are destroying broccoli fields. Another choice would be around the Millinocket area. Too far North and you are in some really desolate area's

The Best Place Is ALASKA.  I've shot three this year.  Two proxies for disabled friends, and one for myself.

3, that is quite neat.

An aside here = did the proxy rules on bull moose change recently? I thought they made a change as of late, requiring a palm to be cut on proxies, similar to the Koyukuk rules on a RM permit. Not that it matters to me, but I am hunting with a res of Ak this year who also does the proxy moose hunt for an elder neighbor, and was curious if I am right, or if I am dreaming this rules change. Figgured you'd know this.

VT is another option, 1 in 20 odds for a non-res to get a tag, but if drawn it's a blast - I went last fall

I've gone to Newfoundland 3 times and each time I got my moose.  I've been to Alaska 4 time and got 1 moose.  If you're looking for the closest thing to a sure thing, e-mail me and I'll give you all the info on the Newfoundland hunt.  You deal directly with the outfitter.  No booking agents. This place where I hunted is incredible.  According to the Fish & Game guys up there the moose density in this particular area is 7.7 moose per square mile!  They said it's not so much of IF I was going to get a moose, but rather which one!!!  And they were tight!  There are moose everywhere.  I killed my first moose within the first 7 minutes of the first morning of the hunt.  It was 53" and had 25 points.  Good thing, too, because later that same day I came down with an intestinal virus that kept me between the bedroom and the bathroom for the rest of the week.  And to add insult to injury, my brother-in-law and his guide drank all my Jack Daniels!!!  They said I was in no condition to appreciate it!  The moose a smaller than the ones in Alaska but the cost of the hunt is about 1/3 of the guided Alaska hunts.  Since there are so many moose in this area I would recommend the 2x1 hunt over the 1x1.  The 2x1 hunt is $500 cheaper.  You and your hunting buddy just have to flip to see who shoots first.
