the super blackhawk project gun is now about complete
« on: April 18, 2007, 01:42:48 AM »
Got the action done and dave clements donated a 4440 cylinder to me and its at alan hartons getting throated to .431 so now its a convertable too. For you that missed it its a 4 5/8s super that i fitted an aluminum grip frame and ejector rod housing to, scalloped the recoild sheild and loading gate . Had it all beadblasted to match. Put a bowen rough country rear and a clements front post, a belt mountain sherrifs locking base pin in it removed the warning and have 44 man making a set of scrimshawed micra grips and fitting old model black eagles in them. I bought most of the parts used and have very little into this gun and it sure makes for a nice light packing pistol that shoots as good as it looks and now with the two cylinders is very versitile to boot.

theres a pic of it here http://www.gboreloaded.com/forums/index.php/topic,114103.0.html  that was right after bead blasting ive since scotch brited it to the point where the main gun matches the grip frame. When the grips are done and the 4440 cyl comes back ill post some more pics.

That little Blackhawk sure is turning out to be a sweetheart of a carry gun. I hope you bring it to Grayling this year.
