Does anyone still make the side scope mount for the Model 71 Winchester/Browning? Thanks for your help!

The 2002 Williams catalogue lists the SM-71 mount being available, but appears to require the drilling of 3 holes in the receiver.  Why would you want to do that?  There are a number of those rifles available at reduced prices.

I have a 71 Browning in 348 win. I have got a number of groups in the 2inch range at 100yds since I put a Williams FP receiver peep on it. For what I want it for, that is about all the MOA i need from a gun with that tragectory. I will take her elk hunting this fall, If I draw a tag.
