East Texas got hammered. Several inches, hail and tornadoes. Hopefully will be clear for next weekend. Want to do work on my hunting lease.

Oh yeah!  Got nailed - 9" of heavy snow and 2" of water on top of that in eastern upstate NY - would have made for over 2 and one half foot of snow had it been any colder.  Heavy stuff to move to, esp by hand/shovel. 

This freakish weather is beginning to bug me.  I am reclaiming, or attempting to reclaim old pasture to begin an orchard and have lots of work starin' me inna face before the seedling I ordered arrive, and time's awastin' and Mother Nature ain't cooperatin'.  If this sort of weather problem occurs about only once every 25 years then I can easily wait another quarter century for the next one.  Mikey.

Didn't get enough rain for a week's worth of watering (1").  Apparently we were at the extreme Southern end of the front.  Down here we're still 10's of inches of rainfall behind for this year and the groundwater table is multiple feet (4 to 5) below its average position.  The ground is parched, the vegetation dry, and conditions are ripe for unabated fire. 

Planting food plots in this weather is a losing proposition.  I have 50# of grass seed for my yard at home.  I have had it for 7 weeks.  I am on the verge of purchasing soy beans for Summer food plots.  Without sufficient soil moisture there is little prospect for their germination. 

So I wait.  It could be worse...snow and all...but have to say it's Another Beautiful Day in Paradise here in sunny Florida (hehe).
