They are great guns for the money, it all depends on what you want it for. For hunting with shots out to 300-350 yards or so they are great. There are many prairie dogs that have fallen to Handirifles at 350 yards and beyond in the proper calibers, .223, .22-250, .204 etc. So a deer or antelpoe would be no problem at the same yardage in the proper caliber, .270, .280, 30-06, .308, 7mm-08 etc. I prefer the wooden stocks myself though. If you just want to impress people with how much your gun costs however you will have to go with something else, they are affordable, accurate, and reilible. They are American made with a great warranty and a customer service department that extends their written warranty even further, they are the best. Try one, you will like it. I do suggest a nice .280 with the 26" barrel and wooden stocks but that is my preference, you may need or want something a bit different, luckily they come in many variations and even more are available by mixing and matching parts from one to another, the configurations are virtually endless....<><....
