Whopper Stopper, Are you shooting single action or double action?  If you are shooting double action you may want to switch to single until you get used to shooting the RH.

When I am aiming I am lining up the bottom of the plastic insert with the back sight. I then try to put the target just on top of the front sight, like Redhawk1 is showing.

if i understand your post above, then you are using an improper 'hold'.     the TOP of the plastic insert in the front sight should be even with the top of the 'U" in the back sight.     it is then easier to 'level' the front sight inside the 'U' of the rear sight; and it is easier to 'center' the front sight that way as well.     Later, if you shoot the handgun at longer distances you can use the hold you seem to be describing above for those greater-distance shots.    but you should sight-in the handgun in the way i've noted just above.

does this make sense?

your grip on the handgun MUST BE consistent for placement of your hand and for the strength/squeeze you put into that grip.    your flexibility in the elbow(s) and wrist(s) must be consistent, too, from shot to shot.   if you don't have consistency in these critical areas your shooting will suffer greatly.

take care,

Whomper,
I don't think your issue is how you are sighting.  The issue seems to be about group size correct?  If you were just lining up consistently wrong I think that would mostly manifest itself with smaller groups but wrong point of impact.  The grip issue, trigger weight and flinching might be something though.  Try switching those springs, it works great, easy and safe.
