just loaded some 85 gn. nosler ballistic with reloader 22. shot less than 1 inch @ 100 yds. its just to darn hot here in N.C. to shoot much.

Same here in Wyoming except add a wind that's 25 - 30 mph!

Light bullet for the 257 - You can load it to make it zippy but remember to count your shots as by as early as 500 and no more than 1000 you will need a new barrel. The 25:06 almost as flat and barrel life is much better - however when you want that once in a lifetime shot the 257 Weatherby will speak with authority.

i use mine for elk also. i wish i could get enough shots to wear barrel out. but the days have flown buy to fast. so my walking gets shorter and my shots get longer.
