Their turn around is usually about two weeks.
Hunting and fishing are not matters of life or death. They are much more important than that.

Just out of curiosity, how old is your dad's leupold?  What model is it?  On what gun and cartridge was it mounted?

Also, are you sure it's the scope?  Maybe its the mounts, or something else.

I'm very interested in knowing what Leupold will say/do.

Let us know.

Be for warned,  If they can not fix the scope the will send you a new one and you will never see your fathers scope again.   Lost an heir loom that way once.

LUCK when preperation meets opportunity.

He got it back today, all new internals and the lenses were reground and coated, turn around was outstanding,3 weeks total,Best customer service i have ever seen from a scope builder,if you overlook a Leo to save a couple bucks you are cutting your own throat down the road when you need service.

I haven't had too many service issues with scopes, but the ones that I recall  having sent in - Leupold, Simmons, Bushnell, and Redfield, were all handled extremely well.  Leupold, Simmons, and Redfield (the old, original Redfield) to my mind, all went way beyond the call of duty and exceeded my expectations.  Leupold returned a scope rapidly (air freight) in time for hunting season, Redfield actually built a special scope for me as they had changed a model from one year to the next and I wanted the old style, and Simmons replaced something I purchased incorrectly with a better, more expensive model at no charge.  I guess I should add Jason Empire - my first binocs from almost 40 years ago, that they fixed for free after my buddy dropped them in a duck blind.

Maybe I have just been lucky, but I have gotten the impression that optics outfits, as a group, seem to give very good service.  Leupold does a great job, but so do others!
