Silicon Bronze Square Nuts
« on: May 22, 2007, 01:12:38 AM »
Does anyone know where I could find Slilcon Bronze Square Nuts? Specifically 1/2"-13

Or Brass, Copper... gotta be square.

I need about 40 of them

I find a company that can make me some... 100 piece min order, at about 8 bucks a piece.   :o

I was kinda hoping for 40 of them at 2 bucks each  :(

If I can't find them, I'm going with stainless. Not quite the color that I was looking for, but they won't rust either and I can find them.

Get some square stock and make them in your lathe

The lathe that I didn't buy?

I guess I could cut squares and dril/tap holes.

Rick,

I know that you are looking for 1/2"-13. But, if you could use 1/2"-10 for your project then McMaster-Carr has them in brass.  However, they are more then your target price.

I have plenty of 7/8 square rod FC-360 brass just like your barrel. If 7/8 can work, how thick would you like them? What kind of finish? (mill scale on flats)? 30 or 45 angle to flats?

I can get any size square, hex or round.

hmmmm... went from no options to too many options  :)

I'll have to dwell on all this a bit now - but I do appreciate all the suggestions.
