It is clear so far that the 45-70 and the 223 are well liked around here.

Let's see .....

On my one and only [SB-2] receiver, I'd go with a 12 gauge Topper Deluxe Classic barrel (if not a 20 gagg TDC bbl instead),

A .30/06, .223 Remy, .45/70 and .357 Maxie.

243, 357, 308, 45-70

Why only 4 ?
Just because I keep a "slot" for a 22lr, that didn't appear in the list !

The .30-06 was my only rimless choice.  I'd rather have a .30-40 Krag but it wasn't listed.

I know nobody likes it but you could have listed the 44mag.

If they made them with the correct bore size, the .44 Magnum would have been my 5th choice.

I went by the current barrel program and I only left out 2 barrels that are curently avalable. The 44 Mag and the 45 Long Colt. I see now that I should not have left any barrels out including shotgun barrels. Sorry I will try harder next time I run a poll.

Just thought I would move this out to the front to give people who have not voted a chance to.

I'd like to see the Huntsman barrel on it also, you can load a muzzleloader for almost anything.

I could only come up with 4, well 3 really.

223 for varmints and fun.

30-30 for everything up to the big bears.

06 for the big bears and shots that could exceed 250 yd.

500 S&W just because. ;D

"The 30-06... good for moose to squirrel!"  :o

Sorry to all you long timers, I just couldn't resist the temptation.   :-[  ;)

To you new folks a bit of explanation.  Long ago we had a resident troll who claimed to have participated in all sorts of activities (legal and ill-legal) with the '06 and the above quote was sort of his signature saying.

I just filled the last hole in my hunter package , 4 barrels all for 1 frame , 243 , 30/30 , 270 , and 45/70 . My next step is to build a custom case to hold the frame and all barrels .

Should be able to take anything in North America with 4 legs . what do you think ?  ;)

Sounds like you are all set to go Stimpy.  Now what will you be making that case out of... maple.. mahogany... perhaps cherry?  I think good old stout red oak would be fitting for a 4 barrel Handi outfit.   ;)

Nobody picked the .308.  Or 7mm-08 that surprises me.
is that because the most voted for Cals are the most accurate in the Handi?

Old datil has to be different, I know you did not list two of my barrels but I have them
any way. Mine are 219 Zipper, 25-35 win. 30-30, 357 Maxie, and the old stand by
45-70. I have them, Two are custom, all rimmed cases. Marv.

Okay, guys, since the poll was closed with limited voting and other people still chiming in, I am going to post my 2 cents.

243 win for varmints and small big game
308 for medium and deer-sized game
30-06 for medium game with heavier bullets
500 s&w for big and dangerous game
410/45 colt for small game and survival hunting
