454 Casull
« on: May 10, 2007, 01:26:46 PM »
;D  Just wondering what is a fair price on a 45/454 in a Ruger Super Redhawk.  I was floored by the price at Gander Mtn. at $799.00 for one  :o.  What's the going rate for a 44 mag in same configuration.  Thanks!

Rifle Fan, that price is absurd.  I bought my SRH in .454 from the Gander Mountain in Rockford about two years ago for $569, and added a Leopuld M8 2x to it for another $209, or about $20 less than just the gun at your Gander.

theres a like new super redhawk with a 2 power leupold scope on it for 600 bucks at the buddys gunshop. That should help give the value of the 44.

Prices are up across the board. In the NY area I started seeing MSRP  which was never the case

I saw the Gander Mtn. stores around me had the SRH with the 9.5 inch barrel in 45/454 marked down to $599 about 4-6 weeks ago.  However, the guy behind the counter told me that price was only good for the 9.5 inch (I like the shorter one better) ...something about they were not going to stock the longer barrel configuration anymore, had too many, and wanted to get rid of them.  Not sure if that helps or not?

::)  I think that $799 was for a 9-1/2" barrel.  Called them up to be sure and it was $719.00 for an 7-1/2" barrel for a 45/454; $689.00 for a 7-1/2" 44 Rem mag.  Ouch!  Southern WI.

I'm in the market for a one also and here are the prices in Wichita Kansas.(as of May 19, 07)
Gander Mountain $719.99+ tax
Sportsman Warehouse $699.99 +tax

Checked the auction sites the same gun runs $625-$650 plus shipping.

I'm about to buy one for $650 to my FFL holds door, with transfer fee it will be $670.

Hope this helps.
