Peep Sight for Buffalo Classic
« on: May 15, 2007, 03:20:16 PM »
I am looking for a peep sight for my Buffalo Classic.   I am considering the Williams Foolproof that is sold by H & R or the Smith Enterprises Buckhorn ladder Sight.   The Smith really suits my purpose better because of the ease of adjustmemt to different ranges.  However I thought the slider was a peep type,  but it is shown to have a notched slider.  Not so good for my old eyes.   Is it available with the peep now?

Most of my shooting will be at 100 yds, but I would like the capabiity for 300 yd. or more adjustments.  How about the Williams FP?   Can it be adjusted out to 300 yards or better?  Most of my loads are fairly light loads (Springfield pressure range).  I have a Weaver 8 power scope on it now and 100 yds is about all the adjustment there is.

Would like to hear from anyone who has either type of sight.  Maybe someone can suggest something better yet.   Also would like for anyone to post their favorite loads with 405 gr. & 500 gr. cast bullets.

I haven't had the rifle long and and am having a little trouble getting it to shoot like I know it can.
Thanks in advance.

Please read the links in the FAQs and Help sticky on Sights, I think you'll find the answers to all of your questions there. The Smith ladder sight no longer comes with a peep slider, you'll have to order that from Smith more than likely, that's where I got mine. The FP target sight is good well past 300yds with 500gr bullets, the Smith will get you near 1000yds.
