The rrear sight base is sweated on. The sight assembly has a roll pin that needs to be drifted out in order to take it apart after removing the screw. Be careful and don't loose or bend the spring. Also, the windage adjustment screw can be backed out and the blade removed, without removing the rest of the sight from the base. Again, be careful of the spring. You are correct, also, the front sight is sweated on, too. I have the same problem with my Tracker I barrel. The rear sight must be adjusted very high in order to hit POA. I haven't tried filing down the front sight, yet. I think I may work on that before deer season, though.
