Question about neck sizing?
« on: May 20, 2007, 09:47:51 AM »
I have always full lenght resized.  I do this for all my reloading.  Now I only reload special loads for two guns, a TCR .338, and my Weatherby .338/378.  Everything else, I have multiple guns in those calibers and just grab a box off the shelf.  Would neck resizing work with other guns than the one it was shot through last?  Would neck resizing help me with my two custom loads?

The problem with neck sizing for multi . rifles in the same cal. is that no 2 chambers are the same , if you were to size for the chamber with the most slop in it then the cases would not fit the chamber that was tighter to spec.

My advice would be to FL size the ones that you have more that 1 gun in a cal. and neck size the ones that you only have 1 of like the .338 .

You would have to try each rifle to see.  I have a friend and he can use my 7-08 ammo but I can't use his.

Thanks stimpylu32:  That was my thoughts too.  Think I'll only neck size the Weatherby and T/C loads
